Jennifer Hewson

My role as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary has provided me with unique experiences training future social work practitioners, working on diverse community projects, and exploring best and promising practices related to community development and the arts. I am committed to a participatory, anti-oppressive, strengths based approach when working with older adults to help them share their lived experiences and raise awareness about opportunities and challenges related to aging. I have trained as a Digital Storytelling facilitator, was the coordinator of our Faculty's Digital Storytelling Program, have taught and used PhotoVoice, and managed arts-based community projects to promote awareness about social issues and vulnerable populations.
