Victim to the unrelenting obsession of the outsider, a popular high school student fights to unmask their true identity.
Dylan, a popular and charismatic high school student, finds his perfect existence suddenly compromised by the unwelcome attentions of lonely outcast, Belinda. Belinda has always been rejected, despite her best efforts to assimilate to the high school experience, but she persists. Much to Dylan's disappointment, his best friend, Mindi, takes pity and invites her into their inner circle. As Mindi and Belinda grow closer, Belinda lights up with new-found confidence while Mindi becomes cold and reclusive, distancing herself from Dylan and his friends. As this increasingly abnormal behaviour becomes intertwined with eerie supernatural forces, Dylan is compelled to dig deeper into Belinda's true character, but what he discovers next is something that will turn his whole world upside down.
We're pleased to introduce our crew of creative artists! We're passionate about creating stimulating stories that get the adrenaline rushing. We are seeking a Producer, Cinematographer and Production Manager to join us on this thrilling journey.
A typical small-town high school, where students should feel safe and encouraged to reach their full potential. The reality, however, is that the well-estabished cliques within these walls create fractured rifts and divides that affect every student - for better or worse…
Socially awkward and misunderstood, Belinda Middleton is an outsider who’s desperately seeking a connection. Her efforts to fit in only distance her further from her peers.
Gertrude's efforts to be perceived as the perfect mother come across as icy and detached, putting too much pressure on Belinda. However, she genuinely loves her daughter and would do anything to keep her safe.
Charming and sarcastic, Dylan Lin is the leader of his friend group. His intelligence and intuition make him a great judge of character.
Gertrude and Belinda’s relationship is something many people can relate to, where the concept of an overbearing mother puts unnecessary pressure on the child, leading to a toxic relationship. We feel the audience will connect to this and that’s it’s a subject that is not widely recognized or discussed.
We want to give a voice to those who we feel are not currently represented. We believe we can change this narrative by creating our own stories with strong ethnic diversity. We are proud to have an inclusive cast of multicultural characters and of the LGBTQ community.
The film also relates to the Jewish community, with reference to supernatural elements from Jewish folklore.
This film embodies the social exclusion that everyone experiences at some point in their life, whether it be on the playground, in high school, or the workplace. This exclusion leaks into every aspect of a persons’ psyche and stays with them throughout their lifetime, affecting everything from their own personal self confidence to the way that they treat others.
The overall mood of the production is dark and macabre to create a sense of uneasiness, yet subtle, so as not to distract the audience from the storyline.
It appears to be your typical small town high school, yet we highlight the abandoned corridors and empty classrooms to illustrate the emotional turmoil and loneliness that the isolated students feel.
The home of Gertrude and Belinda Middleton is almost clinical in its presentation. The welcoming exterior hides the many cracks of the damaged interior. The color palette would comprise mainly of traditional browns and earthy tones in order to continue the ongoing theme of uncovering the intricacies of a simple exterior.

Considering our story is based in high school, we plan on engaging high school populations through social media outreach, visiting schools, giving presentations and speaking to youth one on one about our story and the social issues it touches on such as social exclusion, ignorance, and comparison, which are highly relevant in high schools today.
Since our story is of the thriller/horror genre, we plan on creating maximum engagement with horror movie fans through posting on horror subreddits and horror film facebook groups. In this way we hope to spread word and excitement about our novel story amongst the horror fan community.
We as a team believe representation of minorities in film and in larger society is key to changing the world for the better. This is why it is so important for us to use the storyhive platform to demonstrate intersectionality, cast diversity, multicultural leads, and represent the LGBTQ community. In doing so, we hope to make our film engaging for minority audiences who are too often under-represented.
