These barriers have left her feeling lost and empty, and have made her questioning her identity and why she has immigrated in the first place. Her only friend in Canada is Paris who she knows from her school days back home. Paris comes from a wealthy family and has been living in Canada for the last 15 years. As Sahra's challenges grow, Paris starts giving her advice that does not necessarily help or work for her. As Sahra is going through hard times, her teacher Dona, who she meets at English school, opens new windows to her life and helps her through her new journey.

Sahra is a representative of an independent young women who wants to fit into a Canadian culture and many times her struggle could be similar for a local girl in her age. Her english teacher Dana is the dedicated woman who sacrifices her own life to take after her mom and having a midlife crisis.
Canada is a multicultural society whose ethnocultural make-up has been shaped over time by immigrants and their descendants. More than 200 ethnic origins were reported in the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS). In this diverse society cultural differences are inevitable. So many immigrants who are dealing with the same challenges or have had similar experiences like Sahra would relate to this story.
