I am W̱SÁNEĆ and a member of the Tsawout First Nation on Vancouver Island, BC. I carry the name YELḰATŦE, which comes to me from my late grandfather Earl Claxton Sr. I am a PhD Candidate in law at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholar. I am researching and working on the revitalization of Indigenous legal traditions, specifically the W̱SÁNEĆ legal tradition. I research, live, and write in my home community of Tsawout.
