Mitch Stookey
I have been honing my craft with film and video for a decade, including 4 years at Emily Carr University studying film and photography and working professionally for the past 6 years. I want to be a true independent filmmaker and am a huge supporter of the democratization of filmmaking tools. I have worked professionally in writing, directing, editing, camera operating and cinematography, visual effects and animation. I also spent 2 1/2 years as the Education Coordinator at The Cinematheque, where I focused on teaching the myriad of skills involved in video production along with the critical thinking and media literacy skills that accompany them. While I have completed many short video projects, both fiction and documentary, I want to make features that break away from the formulaic.
