It's time to celebrate! STORYHIVE's second Indigenous Storyteller Edition is spotlighting 30 Indigenous-led film projects with $20,000 in production funding along with training and mentorship, plus additional top-up funding from the Indigenous Screen Office and Creative BC.

Pitch + Plan

Award

For the 2022 Indigenous Storyteller Edition, projects will be selected by a selection committee comprised of experienced Indigenous filmmakers and Indigenous TELUS team members. Additionally, this committee will be supported by external Indigenous moderators who will review all submissions. 30 projects will be selected to receive production funding, training, mentorship and distribution support. Each awarded project receives a $20,000 production grant plus additional top up funding from the Indigenous Screen Office and Creative BC.

Learn + Create

Each successful team will work with mentors to produce and deliver a short program, 10+ minutes in duration, and a supplementary content piece 30+ minutes in duration. Projects will be featured on select TELUS platforms in 2024.

Program Dates

  • Applications open: Oct 14, 2022

  • Applications close: Nov 10, 2022

  • Recipients announced: Feb 17, 2023

  • Production starts: April 30, 2023

  • Production ends: Jan 25, 2024
