Since 2013, we at STORYHIVE have given communities in British Columbia and Alberta an opportunity to share their stories on the Canadian Broadcasting System.
Through innovative programs, we provide production funding, training, mentorship and distribution on TELUS Optik TV and online platforms. We are focused on our ongoing mission to support underrepresented communities, helping empower the next generation of content creators and storytellers.

To celebrate a decade of local storytelling, we are proud to introduce STORYHIVE’s very own dedicated channel on TELUS Optik TV. Hosting content on TELUS Optik TV Channel 9 will enable more Optik TV customers to discover locally reflective and relevant films and series produced across British Columbia and Alberta from new and emerging STORYHIVE content creators.

Thank you to TELUS Optik TV customers. Because of you, TELUS donated $10,000 to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation. These funds will be put to work right away to support local, grassroots charities that are helping youth build skills, confidence and feel a sense of belonging.
A Decade with STORYHIVE

STORYHIVE was created!
Launched the very first pilot program: STORYHIVE Lab.
Launched the first three Editions for Digital Shorts, Web Series and Music Videos.
Building off the success of our first editions, we took the key learnings and launched a second intake for Digital Shorts, Web Series and Music Videos.

STORYHIVE has impacted my filmmaking journey immensely. Without [this opportunity], I wouldn’t have been able to make this project. With the support, mentorship and funds, it made everything possible.
STORYHIVE has taken something that truly began as a grassroots project and elevated it into something better than I ever imagined.
My experience with STORYHIVE was positive in being able to tell my story, my way.
I never thought of myself as a content creator or storyteller, so to have this passion of Her Love Of Sports and to have STORYHIVE support it meant so much to me.
Through my Voices series we have been able to do something so outside of the box it is incredible. I am so thankful that STORYHIVE has been with me throughout the whole journey.
[STORYHIVE] definitely made it clear that they wanted us to succeed and more than anything, were willing to help get us there and help us grow in the process.
