Scripted Edition SH26

Calling all budding filmmakers in B.C. and Alberta! Start your cinematic journey with the TELUS STORYHIVE Scripted Edition, tailored exclusively for scripted genres.

We're seeking short to mid-length fiction films or community TV pilots with locally reflective scripted stories, from uproarious comedies to intense dramas and everything in between.

What is a locally reflective script? Your story needs to take place within the community that you are applying from. So, if your script is about a family of vampires struggling to make it in the modern world… sounds great! But remember that the family of vampires need to live in your community.

Unlock $20,000 in production funding, training, professional mentorship (in partnership with the National Screen Institute) and distribution on TELUS Optik TV, Stream+ and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel. No experience is required.

The application portal is now open:

  • We are providing production grants of $20,000 to create a locally reflective short to mid-length fiction film.

  • Please refer to this program’s Submission Rules and FAQ

  • In your application, you will need to submit a draft script. Your script can be a rough draft, as you will have time to further develop and refine it with your mentor. See info on how to format your script.

  • Your project must be rated G or PG and have no coarse language. You are free to make alternate non-PG versions for other uses such as festivals if you wish.

  • The projects will be reviewed by a selection committee made up of members from the community.

  • Please stay tuned for our online Ask Us Anything on Tuesday, April 16 at 11am-12pm PT / 12pm-1pm MT. Register for the online event here

Your Story, Your Narrative. Let’s bring your vision to life!
