Synopsis
Following the disappearance of her niece Tamara in 2005, Gladys Radek started on a journey of activism and understanding. She has crossed the country several times to promote awareness for the cause of missing & murdered Indigenous women & girls, and her activism has led to improvements in local transportation systems and highway signage. Her work promotes healing through sharing, storytelling, and cultural connection. Through Radek's insights we will explore the most memorable moments of her epic journey - as she helps us understand why Indigenous women are more at risk in Canadian society, and consider how they can be supported in claiming power, safety, hope and healing in today's world.

Gladys Radek is a pioneer of the Campaign for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls. She has spent 15 years meeting with the families of those gone missing and murdered in Canada and speaking up for their cause. She has heard their stories, visited their homes, and witnessed their pain. The insight she has gained over her journey will be invaluable knowledge in the quest to understand why Indigenous women are more at risk in Canadian society than any other demographic, and her recommendations are ideas that suggest a safer society for all people.
