The world has ended. Dylan, a young man with cerebral palsy, tries to show he's not a burden to Steve, his travel companion. When Steve is left unable to protect Dylan or himself, it is up to Dylan to prove that he can be the good survivor
A human story about survival in an inhuman world.
The world has ended and only a few scattered survivors scavenge an undead land. Dylan, a young man with cerebral palsy, was not built for these times but tries to show he's not a burden to Steve, his travel companion. When Steve is left unable to protect Dylan or himself, it is up to Dylan to prove that he can be the good survivor.
The #YMM Team We are a mix of various disciplines and talents but at our core, we are all story tellers. We love and make, films, podcasts, and community uniting events. We believe there is no challenge that cannot be overcome as a 'film family.'
Members of this team created the Fort McMurray Filmmakers Association. A Non-Profit Organization that helps stimulate the local film and arts scene by conducting events and educational workshops for filmmakers of all levels. Using the resources of this group, we will expand our talent pool as well as open the possibilities of new members to get involved in film projects.
Other members of this team helped create Thunder-Struck Improv; a new community organization dedicated to providing a venue for individuals of all-ages to practice the art of improv as well as perform in free shows available to the community. This group will also assist in expanding our reach to talented individuals wanting to get involved in the project.
All members of this team have been strongly involved in the local community arts and culture movement; including 2 members sitting on the board of the local Arts Council. Our community is known for being a transit community with no culture, members of our team have been integral in showcasing the arts movements and proving that arts and culture in Fort McMurray are alive and ready to thrive!
Our target audience for this project is adults aged 18 - 35; specifically we are aiming for individuals who are fans of dramatic thrillers who enjoy genre film like these individuals who attend our Halloween film events and actually dress up for the parts! Our team prides itself in sharing our love of genre film within our community.
We want to target a general audience who embraces a film that is deep in story, while appealing to a pop culture audience who gets so engaged in a style/ genre / story type that it gives birth to a films cult following.
By engaging our target audience with a deep human story in a fantastical setting, we are looking to expand interest by appealing to an audience that grew up in an era of pop culture we are familiar with and a broader audience who enjoy straight forward dramatic stories of man versus nature, man versus man and man versus himself.
We will promo this project through the annual film events organized by the Fort McMurray Filmmakers Association. Film Fear, an annual Halloween Film Festival currently in its 5th year, attract the exact target audience we are looking to capture with this project.
We also plan to partner with local groups and charities to hold audience awareness events, such as local trivia nights, where we can promote our project to individuals who otherwise would not be aware of it.
Through our pop culture convention appearances (Calgary Expo, Edmonton Expo, San Diego Comic Con), weekly internet radio shows and numerous social media presence, we will generate further audience awareness for our project by appealing to the specific individuals we believe will connect and spread the word about 'The Good Survivor.'
