    Synopsis

Diny Harrison has been a trailblazer in the mountains her entire life. Her passion for skiing drew her out West as a young adult, where she continued to explore the high country and ultimately discovered climbing. In 1992, she was the first Canadian woman to become recognized as an internationally certified mountain guide. Since then, she has enjoyed a busy career in a field largely dominated by men. She has guided on four continents, instructed and mentored apprentice guides, and kept her clients safe in the mountains. Ascend, Pioneers! tells the story of Diny’s historic rise to the top of her field, as well as the perilous challenges she has overcome on and off the mountains. The film celebrates the inspirational perspective her experience has given.
