I’m a single indigenous woman who is a single parent of an adult dependent with a rare diagnosis of Rett Syndrome and lives with complex care needs. I’ve the lived experience of being affected by the intergenerational trauma and family dysfunction as a direct result of the residential school system that’s history is deeply rooted in my family lineage. Navigating through both of these situations throughout my life and healing from the impacts that have been devastating to me and my family. I’m from Saskatchewan and at a young age was relocated through the prairies and brought to the Yukon Territory in 1986 at age 10.
