Dawn van de Schoot

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based here in Calgary. I work primarily as an actor, writer and dancer. I hold a BA in Drama from the University  of Toronto and an MFA in Theatre Studies  from the University of Calgary where I specialized in the Theatre of the Oppressed which has led me to work as a Social Practice artist and Community Cultural development in the realm of Public Art where I've worked for the last 17 years. I've recently turned my attention to writing screenplays and have been the recipient of the Harold Greenberg Fund for the development of the screenplay “The Side of the Road” with Asvoria media and various residencies worldwide.
