Roberta Staley

Roberta Staley, MA, is a freelance magazine writer/editor, author and documentarian who specializes in international reportage, having worked in Afghanistan, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Cambodia, El Salvador, Colombia, Haiti, New Zealand and Israel. In 2017, she produced and directed the award-winning documentary, Mightier Than the Sword, which explored the influence of Afghan female journalists on gender norms in Afghanistan. The film led to the creation of the 2019 biography, Voice of Rebellion – How Mozhdah Jamalzadah Brought Hope to Afghanistan. Professional goals include filming international documentaries focused on human rights and animal conservation.
