Julia Ivanova

I directed a number of intimate films that defy individual and societal perceptions, on the topics of minorities, orphanhood and search for love, including Fatherhood Dreams (2007), a film about gay fathers and their children; Love Translated (2010), a journey into the world of dating tours; and Family Portrait in Black and White (2011), a story of black Ukrainian orphans and their foster mother, which premiered at Sundance and won at Hot Docs Film Festival. Just recently, I completed the film I was working on for four years - as a director, cinematographer, writer and editor - "Limit is the Sky". It was produced by NFB and won at DOXA. I have less experience as a producer than a creator but I executive produced several films I directed. My goal is just to continue telling great stories.
