Filmmaker/ Producer with experience ranging from DIY grassroots filmmaking to broadcast television.
Coty Savard is an emerging Cree, Métis Filmmaker/ Producer. One of her most recent works Dear Mr Prime Minister, was featured on “Canada’s top 10 favourite CBC Arts stories of 2016”. Her first short film Pehonan discussed the over-representation of Indigenous people in Edmonton Alberta’s homeless population. Pehonan is now being featured in Cinema Politicas: First People, First Screens and is available in their international networks. In the past two years Coty has directed multiple projects, edited a feature length documentary, worked as an Associate Producer for Mosaic Entertainment, worked on two scripted broadcast television series for APTN and Super Channel, as well as volunteered and produced over 20 monthly videos on Indigenous History with Amiskwaciy History Series.
