Rita is a spiritually minded 24 year old lesbian artist working as a mental health worker. Her day job consists of her delivering and administering prescription drugs to some rather interesting characters, but Rita has a real passion for visual arts.
Josh is a 25-year-old flamboyant, career obsessed filmmaker who puts all of his effort into making movies with his friends and truly believes he is destined to be a Hollywood filmmaker. Josh does not take any other aspect of his life seriously; he can't keep his house clean and is generally terrified at the thought of commitment.
This show will have a rather large supporting cast. It will focus on Rita and Josh's families, both of which come from traditional backgrounds that tend to give unsolicited, overbearing advice including their emphasis on the importance of marriage. The other supporting characters are Rita and Josh's close friends & co-workers who think that they are crazy and are throwing their lives away with their decision to raise a child.
